CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

CO2 lasers were one of the first lasers to be introduced into the medical world, around 40 years ago, and are still recognised as one of the most useful and efficient lasers. They are used in many medical fields, which include, dentistry, podiatry, dermatology and aesthetics.

Why Choose Us?

At our Sheffield Aesthetics and Laser Clinic( SAL), our experienced and qualified doctors only use the highest and latest top of the range technology. No matter how mild or extreme the problem is, we have the necessary skills to provide you with the most effective and optimal results.

How Long Does it Take?

The time taken depends on the size of the area being treated and how much treatment is required but normally for skin resurfacing treatment on the whole face, it will take approximately 30 minutes.

Will It Be Painful?

Prior to the procedure, the doctors will treat the area accordingly and will either use a topical cream to numb the area or a nerve block depending on the size of the area. You may experience mild discomfort during you treatment or a slight burning sensation.

What Are the After Effects and Recovery Time?

Following the procedure, there may be slight swelling or bruising for the first 1-2 days. You may also experience slight itching and stinging in the affected area. It is advisable to avoid using make-up for a few days after the treatment and to apply prescribed creams.

With the advanced technology that we use, the areas should begin to heal within 3-5 days.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

You will notice immediate results after your first treatment. The number of treatments needed depends on the skin condition and extremity of it, such as scarring from acne or wrinkles and lines normally require 2-3 treatments, every 4-6 weeks.

Results

Within a week after the procedure, you will see a noticeable difference but the skin will continue to improve for a few months after the treatment.
